Self-Care/ˌselfˈker/

By Martha Kent

Self-care is crucial for mental and emotional health; it gives us the tools to navigate life's challenges with resilience and grace. As women, we too often relate self-care to caring for our physical appearance. However, self-care isn’t all about the self.

This Women’s History Month, I’d like to propose the idea that extending a hand to another woman is a tangible way to practice self-care.  Helping another woman isn't just a gesture of kindness; it's a form of self-care. Planting seeds of love and encouragement into another woman sets a cycle in motion that prioritizes mental and physical well-being, ultimately fostering a culture of self-love and empowerment. By uplifting and empowering each other, we not only contribute to collective progress but also nurture our own sense of purpose and fulfillment.

So, the next time you feel down, depressed, unworthy, anxious, or disconnected, I want to encourage you to invest in another woman by supporting her, speaking up for her, saving her a seat, smiling at her, or loving her the way she needs to be loved.
